Their story

Glabais Hills is a riding school tucked into the rolling hills of Genappe, close to Waterloo, Nivelles, Wavre and Lasne. Our approach brings technical teaching together with respect for the horse and for nature: for us, the wish to ride grows out of the bond between the animal, its surroundings and the rider.

We teach from the first sensory discoveries of the youngest children to the technical refinement of adults, in group or private lessons, according to each rider’s level and goals. Mini Riders, aged 3 to 6, discover balance through play and learn to look after their pony; 6- to 18-year-olds work on dressage, jumping and natural horsemanship; adults get back in the saddle or refine their riding. Our aim: to train riders who are aware, independent and technically sound, in a family spirit.

We have four arenas, two of them covered, so riding goes on whatever the weather. During every school holiday, our week-long camps give children a complete immersion in life at the stables.

Our Club House looks out over the arenas, so parents can follow their children’s progress over a bite to eat or a drink: home cooking built around Belgian produce. It also hosts pony birthday parties and, from time to time, evenings for our members.
