How results are ranked
Match
Only the professionals who match the search and the filters appear.
Distance
From nearest to furthest. For a professional who works within an area, the distance is zero when you are inside that area, otherwise it is the distance to the edge of the area; for a public venue, the distance to the venue. It is rounded into bands: under 5 km, 5–15 km, 15–30 km, 30–60 km, beyond.
Fairness
Within the same band, the order is drawn at random, and the draw changes every day.
Never
Popularity, number of connections, number of views, the outcome of requests, length of presence and payment never play any part in the ranking.
Remote work
Professionals who work remotely appear everywhere when the “Works remotely” filter is on, with their town shown.
How testimonials are collected and checked
- Every testimonial comes from a named person, whose relationship with the professional is shown.
- Its author read and approved it before it was published.
- A testimonial from a peer rests on a connection accepted by both professionals.
What the site will never do
- Show ratings, stars or anonymous reviews.
- Rank by popularity or by payment, or sell a place.
- Open a free sign-up.
- Show a home on the map: only approximate service areas and the addresses of public venues.
